As we are well underway into the new year of 2018 (its already speeding by) and I am finally getting around to blogging… wondering what would be a good topic…
Those who know me and have worked with me know I have more than a love affair with hair and makeup which I of course turned into my career YEAH…… so I thought we would have a little gander at the biggest wedding hair and make up trends for Spring/Summer 2018.
On the catwalks of New York Bridal Week at the end of last year it was all about plaits, waves, bold updos and defined eyes. 2018 is the season of the up do and I am loving it.
Models could be seen wearing their hair pulled into topknots with long Rapunzel-like plaits, slicked-back high ponytail and low in neat and tidy chignons or super sleek hollywood styles waves….
Makeup was all about a fresh face and glowing complexion, eyes both were super soft with beautiful golds paired with a bold lip… with red being a firm favorite.
So how does that translate to us non-modelly types who want a hint of fashion on the wedding day…
Well plaits can be incorporated into updos, fishtail plaits can be worn off to the side in a boho style, low ponytails are an awesome and funky alternative to traditional wedding hair with the right dress and of course waves and curls can come in all shapes and sizes from the vintage to voluminous…. The main thing is that the style suits you, your dress and your style….
