Last year, I had the pleasure of creating Antonia's dream look for her wedding at Hever Castle. This year, for her wedding anniversary, she donned her original gown for a special photoshoot, joined by her groom, her mother, and her two beautiful children. The fact that her look was flawless a year later is a true testament to the power of classic bridal styling.

Antonia’s chosen aesthetic was classic, elegant and timeless.

• Hair: She went for soft Hollywood waves (or glam waves), a sophisticated, fully-down style that provided incredible volume and texture. This classic, flowing look was perfectly completed by her beautiful bridal tiara.
• Makeup: The focus was on achieving that fresh, super glowy skin. We worked on a luminous base and added a delicate highlight to enhance her features. To highlight her amazing blue eyes, we created a soft graduated smokey eye—defined yet delicate—ensuring she looked radiant and camera-ready against the castle's stunning backdrop.

Wedding Day Hair and Makeup – Tunbridge Wells – High Rocks

I can honestly say I had the absolute pleasure of looking after Alannah, her two sisters and her grooms lady for her summer wedding at the wedding venue High Rocks in Tunbridge Wells.

Alannah and I, along with her bridesmaids (sister) had first met a few years ago at a bridal hair and makeup trial when I was looking after a friend of hers getting married and Alannah attended to support. Alannah reminded me of this when we met at her hair and makeup  trial. Where she went on to say that when she got married, she knew it was me she wanted as her hair and makeup stylist… cue bashful, smiley face by me…

We had a lot of fun experimenting with looks and styles at the hair and makeup trial for not only Alannah but her two bridesmaids and groom’s lady. I knew when it came to the wedding day there was going to be a lot of giggles. July arrived and I met the bridal party at the Tunbridge Wells Hotel to get them all hair and makeup ready and feeling fabulous. I also got to work wit one of my favourite wedding photographers, Tom Jeavons Photography and it was a relaxed and fun morning.

Hair and Makeup Styling

All 4 ladies opted for different styling to reflect their own sense of style. My gorgeous bride Alannah is a lover of plaits and so went for a beautiful braided updo and a stronger gold and brown graduated smokey eye. The maids went for a sleek updo to real beachy waves and a much lighter eye makeup. Alannah’s gorgeous wedding dress was from Wed2b in Bromley worn with the most beautiful blue toned shoes. which were one of the first wedding items she brough, even before the dress…

As you can see from Toms stunning pic capturing the day, the laughs continued throughout the day, and I would have expected nothing less from such sweet hearted and genuine people…. And they even brought a little piece of London to Tunbridge wells with their big red bus.

Bridal Photoshoot at RSA House in London

As a hair and makeup artist no one day is ever the same and although based in Kent sees me travelling all over the southeast and especially London where I work in a variety of forums for many new and regular clients.

It brings a varied mix of work looking after those attending Black Tie events, Awards nights, Film Premiers, theatre actors and actresses performing in the West End. Some of the work I am most proud of is when I get to support business woman for such events as the Women in Business for their annual lunch events and the Chairlady of the Oxford and Cambridge Society. The diversity of work for a London hair and makeup artist is so great and I get to meet some incredible and inspirational people.

The Photoshoot

Recently I have been involved in a photoshoot at RSA House (Royal Society of Arts) on the infamous Strand in central London and near Covent Garden. I am delighted to be their recommended hair and makeup artist at this London venue which is such a beautifully unique space with a mix of old and new styling, huge bright rooms and an incredible basement known as The Vaults. It's a real hidden gem in the heart of Central London.

The shoot included all London-based suppliers from Spence Frederick Photography a Brixton-based Photographer taking the most stunning shots, the Urban Flower Company, Islington – two wonderful dress designers Katya London and Grace Loves Lace.

I looked after a host of models for hair and makeup that day and we went with a mix of traditional and boho styles for the shoot to compliment the wonderful wedding dresses and the venue.

Boho Woodland Wedding.

Set in a magical woodland location which was the perfect boho wedding space. Lit with candles and festoon lights and featuring a table adorned from Little Wedding Warehouse.  Terracotta silk and pretty tableware provided by A Touch of Vintage was the focal point along with out-of-this-world flower arrangements byPosy & Wild.

The striking cake creation by Wedding Cakes by Lisa set inside a hoop backdrop and macramé décor.

The bride and groom looked very stylish in their attire, from Pantiles Bride and Slaters Menswear. The bride’s sensational hair and make-up looks by me, complemented with hair accessories by Julie Impens

What Inspired this Boho Wedding Shoot.

"Inspired by the incredible woodland space and the venue it was easy to visualize our “Love In the Woods”.  This rustic bohemian concept fitted the location so well. Showcasing how the outdoor space could work for an intimate and colourful wedding.

Our aim was to show contrast in the woodland environment, to bring to life the earthy tones of the natural space. Using hues of nudes and pinks right through to the vibrant orange, creating a warm and inviting space for the bride and groom.

We created three beautiful, unique but cohesive spaces within the woodland forest. The ceremony with a beautifully decorated flower arch, a cosy seating space and finally a dining area. A real feast for the eyes yet an incredibly intimate feel."
